YA YA AFLALO

Designer, Yael Aflalo was born in Los Angeles in 1977. After attending the University of California at Berkeley, she spent a year at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.  At the age of twenty, she began designing clothes, one piece at a time.  Finding her foundation in reconstruction, her first medium was unique pieces of reworked vintage Levis. The buyer of Fred Segal, Jon Eshaya, took notice and urged her to create an entire collection. 

Since then, YA-YA has been one of the leading brands in the exploding L.A. design scene. Based in the fashion district of Los Angeles, the company and product take it's inspiration from the bustling urban environment which surrounds the studio. YA-YA employs an exceptional group of designers, craftsmen and production experts. Essentially a young company, YA-YA is a collection of artistic youth dedicated to producing quality products.

To ensure the highest quality, all YA-YA products are crafted by carefully selected manufacturers. YA-YA is distributed to only select boutiques and department stores, in over 10 countries.  Design is focused on elegant fabrics, flattering cuts and grounded in wearability.  Fabrications range from silks and cashmere to canvas and corduroys, but always embody quality and luxury. The cuts reflect a ready-to-wear fit with extended lengths and draped or tailored fits. Above all YA-YA is dedicated to the practical art of fashion, emphasizing flattering the female form.
