T-Bags

Founded in 2000 by friends Shadi Askari and Su-lyn Tay, t-bags ® is a contemporary fashion line that embraces the moods and themes of each trend with a unique twist!  The Los Angeles based company designs, markets and distributes its full collection to high-end department stores and better boutiques across the globe…and has been featured in magazines such as W, Elle, Vogue, and Bazaar.

Shadi Askari graduated from Boston University and Su-lyn Tay from Nottingham University.  Both business majors met while completing their post graduate degrees in merchandising and product development at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.  Initially starting as a hand bag line, they believed that they could make the perfect bag that was trendy and yet sophisticated.  Soon, the talented duo started transforming vintage fabrics, suede and upholstery into distinctively funky and chic handbags.

Though t-bags ® began as a carry wear line, in Fall 2001 Shadi and Su-lyn developed a line of clothing that, like their carry wear line, reflected a variety of themes from avant garde to hippie chic pieces.  Focusing on combining the details of the classic blouse silhouette with super-chic cuts, the comfortable fabrics caress the body, all the while draping against each feminine curve.
