Gustto

Agathe Planchon, Head Designer and President of Gustto was born in the South of France, has been inspired by a life of constant motion.  Moving from city to city in France, Ms.Planchon’s love for travel was instilled at an early age.  Nestled on the Northwestern coast of the Italian Riviera, Portofino has long been the designer’s most beloved sanctuary and primary source of inspiration.  Personifying luxury, fashion, and passion for life, the Italian lifestyle has incited Ms. Planchon to design this subtly sexy, yet unerringly sophisticated collection.

Ms. Planchon first made her foray into the corporate world not as a designer, but as a
technology executive.  Always a shrewd businesswoman, Planchon identified the unique opportunity which presented itself with the proliferation of internet-based commerce that dominated the early 1990s.  Motivated by the allure of Portofino and life on the Riviera, Planchon sought to capitalize on the economic boom, creating a perfect accessory for the modern, glamorous, fashion-forward woman.

Ms. Planchon’s inaugural handbag design, Sola City, became an immediate sensation, quickly setting the tone and raising the bar for the brand.  In Spring 2005, Planchon unveiled the Baca bag, which has since become one of the foremost “must have” accessories from Fifth Avenue to the Hollywood Hills. Keeping with Gustto’s upward trend, Planchon followed with the Italiana Vintage, Milana, Antica and Baca Patent Collections, which boast celebrity favorite styles including the Parina and Setela and Big Baca Patent.

For Fall 2007, Planchon sets the tone for oversized bags, once again; this time, with the clutch.  Always ahead of the trends, Planchon redefines the traditional clutch, offering a variety of oversized styles, the perfect fit for day or night. Boasting gold brushed finished hardware and Planchon’s signature super-soft Italian leather, Gustto’s new Patchwork, Winterpark, Modern Italiana and Cala collections are sure to be amongst the hottest fashions for Fall 2007.
